Abel is truly obsessed with building the perfect reel. As beautiful as their reels look, they fish even better. Trout, tarpon, tuna, dorado marlin, pike, salmon, bass, wahoo, bluefish, stripers -- you name the species and an Abel reel has stopped 'em cold.
Abel Reels are machined from solid blocks of prime grade aluminum. They maintain exacting tolerances, ensuring anglers a reel that performs flawlessly year after year, trip after trip, fish after fish. Reels are then meticulously anodized and finished for a lifetime of corrosion resistance.
All Abel Reels have a lifetime warranty
The heart and soul of each Abel is their unique "Stop-a-Sub" drag system. Since most fish are lost at either the strike or the net, it is essential that the drag system has virtually no hesitation or stutter. They have worked to make the performance as smooth as silk improve your chances of landing the fish of a lifetime.
Much has been written about synthetic materials replacing cork for reel drags. Abel has conducted extensive tests on these materials and finds them inferior to cork. Pure cork can be compressed more than 50% and it still pops back to its original form.
Abel uses a high grade cork and puts a little pure neat's foot oil on it. Simple and effective. These reels don't need added components like automatic drag wear compensating devices because Abel's drags don't wear.
All reels and spare spools are delivered in a deluxe nylon bag which protects the reel while mounted on the rod.
